Dr Federica Cappuccini is a Senior Scientist in the Laboratory Research and Innovations (LRI) department at CEPI, with extensive expertise in vaccine development, immunology, and translational research. She leads preclinical support across CEPI’s RNA programme and innovation portfolios, reviewing in vivo and in vitro studies, assessing immunoassays, and technology optimisation. Prior to joining CEPI, Federica played a key role in the pre- and post- licensure clinical testing of the Oxford COVID-19 vaccine (ChAdOx1 nCoV-19) and now contributes to the advancement of innovative solutions for infectious diseases and pandemics within CEPI’s Disease X and 100 Day Mission initiatives. With hands-on experience across high-impact vaccine programmes, Federica brings a nuanced understanding of the scientific and operational challenges in global health. Her work is driven by a deep commitment to public health and a belief in equitable access to vaccines.
