Eleanor Wilson, MD MHS is an Executive Director of Clinical Development and Head of the Influenza programs at Moderna Therapeutics. In this role, she applies her experience in clinical trials, translational medicine, and infectious diseases to improving options for protection from seasonal and pandemic Influenza viruses. Eleanor received her medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed her internal medicine residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, infectious disease fellowship at the National Institute of Health, and Masters of Health Sciences in Clinical Research through a joint NIH/Duke Masters collaboration. Prior to joining Moderna in 2022, Dr. Wilson was an Associate Professor of Medicine and Associate Director of Clinical and Translational Research at the Institute of Human Virology of the University of Maryland School of Medicine as well as Staff Clinician at the VA of Maryland Health Care System. She has published more than 70 peer-reviewed manuscripts, has been an investigator on numerous governmental and non-governmental research grants, conducted investigational new drug clinical trials for all phases of drug development, authored the chapter on Antiviral Therapy in Harrisons Principles of Internal Medicine (21st edition), and served as an Associate Editor for Practices and Principles of Infectious Diseases (10th edition).
