Abu Barkat Ullah, Associate Professor in Cyber Security, University of Canberra

Dr Abu Barkat ullah is currently working as an Associated Professor in Cyber security at the University of Canberra. His research expertise encompasses cyber security and safety, data and decision analytics, AI and covers a wide range of applications. He has been working as editor for books, reviewers for conferences and journals. He actively participates and leads local and international conferences.  Before joining to UC Dr Abu Barkat ullah was the founder head of the Center for Cyber Security at the Canberra Institute of Technology. Over the last decade he has been working in collaboration with a range of Australian government agencies and private organisations to deliver IT and Cyber security skills. 
Dr Barkat ullah is a member of a number of professional bodies, ACS, AISA, IEEE.

Human firewall: The ginormous cyber security challenge

  • Along with Covid-19 we are living in another pandemic of cybersecurity threats and no one’s data is safe anymore in the digital age. Understanding how to identify and avoid these threats helps us to secure our digital devices and therefore our digital lives.
  • How well is our enterprise or employee equipped against highly skilled criminals, malicious hackers or nations that aim to steal data or valuable digital information or service?
  • How technology and The Human Firewall will keep many businesses alive, protect them from threats and ultimately give them a robust competitive advantage?
