He spent 16 years at Heathrow Airport, where he led major operational and strategic transformation programmes spanning passenger operations, baggage, airside operations, digital transformation, and airport optimisation. Throughout his career, Simon has delivered complex, multi-million-pound programmes that have helped airports improve operational performance, enhance passenger experience, increase resilience, and enable sustainable growth. His work has included developing future operating models, implementing innovative technologies, and supporting the transition towards increasingly integrated, automated, and data-driven operations. Today, Simon is Managing Director of Wordsworth Consulting, advising airports, airlines, technology providers, investors, and infrastructure operators around the world on operational excellence, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, airport operations centres, and future aviation strategy. He works closely with industry bodies, governments, regulators, and executive leadership teams to help shape the future of aviation. Simon is also a Board Member of the British Aviation Group and a frequent speaker, moderator, and conference chair at leading international aviation events, where he is recognised for his pragmatic insights on innovation, operational performance, and the evolving passenger journey.
