Megan Skarajew, Equine demonstrator and Lecturer, Melbourne Polytechnic

Megan Skarajew
AssocDeg, BAn&VetBioSci, MAnimSc

Megan graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Biosciences from La Trobe University, she then went on to complete her Master of Animal Science degree at The University of Melbourne in 2014. In 2016, Megan went to work at The Lost Dogs’ Home for a number of years, also while studying an Associate Degree in Veterinary Nursing at Melbourne Polytechnic where she found a passion for her career. Since then, she has moved to Ballarat Veterinary Practice Equine Clinic in 2020, as well as becoming an equine demonstrator and lecturer at Melbourne Polytechnic, where it all started. Megan has enjoyed the transition from student to teacher as she gets to talk to other students about her experiences in vet nursing and her favourite topic of horses.  She hopes to encourage more students to get into equine as the industry is experiencing a significant shortage, especially across regional and large-animal practices.
