Michael Talbot, Deputy Head of the Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles, Department for Business and Trade

Michael is Deputy Head of the UK Government’s Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CCAV) of which he was a founding member in 2015. Michael is also Programme Director of the ongoing £66m Commercialising CAM programme and was previously seconded to Zenzic as part of the £100m CAM Testbed UK programme -  a policy he designed. Prior to CCAV, Michael was Head of Horizon Scanning in the UK Government's Horizon Scanning Programme, establishing a cross-Whitehall emerging technologies community of interest (including CAVs). Michael holds Masters’ degrees from the Universities of Toronto and Oxford and, after a short academic career, spent 10 years in industry in a series of SMEs.
