Mark Lee, Director of Pricing and Actuarial Sciences, Wrisk

Mark Lee is an experienced professional in the field of actuarial pricing, with experience across both personal and commercial lines of insurance.  In his role as the Director of Pricing and Actuarial Science, he brings a deep expertise in mathematical sciences and a progressive approach to actuarial methodologies to help Wrisk reengineer the future of automotive insurance. Bringing a mathematical rigour from a background in academic physics research, for the past decade the primary focus of Mark's work has been the application of advanced analytical and modelling techniques to actuarial problems.  Predominantly working on problems in general insurance pricing, including automotive insurance, Mark has used machine learning and AI techniques to derive optimal pricing strategies.  Crucial to this work is an appreciation of the importance of data, data quality, and data structure, to underpin robust business insight and embed cutting-edge technology at the core of business operations.     Mark has been collaborating with Wrisk since the inception of the company, and he has seen data and analytical functions scale from those needed for a start-up to supporting a company expanding its influence and refining its offerings globally, striving to maintain its leadership in pioneering insurance solutions for Automotive OEMs. He is keen to share the insights on modern automotive data that Wrisk has learnt along the way, and further explore the many ways that modern data can provide opportunities in the mobility space.
