Joe Tilley joined the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) in May 2019 as a senior civil servant. Joe sits on the Government Chief Sustainability Officers' group in his current role as Sustainability and Strategic Portfolio Director. Joe leds the enterprise-wide Sustainability Team to enable better outcomes for the public sector across our entire product and service offering, last year the Public sector spent £34bn through CCS. Joe is responsible for CCS' policy implementation and customer advisory offer to the whole public sector, working with the supply chain, and linking with colleagues across government to drive sustainability efforts across policy implementation, commercial, and delivery.

Joe has over 16 years’ experience across start-ups, industry, private and public sector, in business development, sales, strategy and start-up leadership roles. Joe is passionate about Impact, he serves on the Advisory board of Rewired Earth and is a fellow and mentor to start-ups backed by Unreasonable, whose fellowship believe in the power of companies to drive lasting change, and have raised over £13bn in capital to bring solutions to life. Joe retains a key interest in innovation across industry having sold over £3bn of equipment and services for Rolls-Royce.
