Euan McTurk, Director, Charge Saint

Euan is a Consultant Battery Electrochemist who has worked on a broad range of projects, from next-generation cell chemistry research and development to the design of state-of-the-art charging hubs, and has forged strong knowledge of, and contacts with, charging infrastructure manufacturers, suppliers, owners, protocols and operators. Additionally, Euan has driven EVs since 2009, gaining extensive experience and understanding the problems faced by charging networks, and developing close links with the wider EV community and key stakeholders regarding charging infrastructure policy. Therefore, Euan has a first-hand understanding of the nature of charging bay misuse issues - including ICEing (blocking a charging bay with an Internal Combustion Engine vehicle) and parking an EV without plugging in - from EV driver, Charge Point Operator and Local Authority perspectives, and the requirements of the latter to resolve these. This has resulted in the development of Charge Saint, an award-winning app that allows EV drivers to report blocked and broken charge points directly to the relevant CPOs and LAs so that they may fix faults faster and take action to stop bay blockages from happening again.
