Carlos Herrera, Chief Technology Officer, Cabify

Carlos Herrera is Chief Technology Officer at Cabify. The Spanish company, which started operations in Madrid in 2011, has become a leading multi-mobility technology platform in Spain and Latin America. Carlos holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and received his Ph.D. from the Department of Applied Mathematics at the same university in 2017. Thanks to grants from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the Orange Chair at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Herrera conducted research between 2010 and 2014 in Madrid and Boston on human mobility patterns and their relationship with complex social networks. Herrera joined Cabify in 2017 as a data scientist and held the position of Head and VP of Data Science and Research until this latest promotion. Before joining Cabify, he was Chief Innovation Officer at the pioneering online reputation startup Traity, among other roles.
