Ian Fairhurst is the Deputy Head of Prep – Innovative Futures at Knox Grammar School in Sydney, where he leads future-focused initiatives aligned with the school’s strategic vision. With a Master of Education in Innovation and Change, Ian works alongside staff to create inquiry-based, technology-enhanced learning experiences that empower students as creative, empathetic, and future-ready leaders. A recognised thought leader in STEM and educational innovation, Ian serves on the Advisory Boards for both Toddle and Beparta, helping shape global best practices in learning design and flexible learning spaces. He was also the 2023–24 Australian VEX IQ Robotics Teacher of the Year, a founding committee member of the Australian Science and Engineering Fair (AUSSEF), and the 2024–25 Co-ordinator for IPSHA’s Innovative Learning & ICT Group. Ian’s work includes presenting at global conferences such as ISTE and iLRN. His leadership blends strategic vision with hands-on implementation—cultivating educational ecosystems where students and teachers thrive in an increasingly complex world.
