Dou Ribu | Director - Strategy and Major Projects

Dou Ribu is a dynamic and results-driven professional with a passion for driving innovation. As the Director of Strategy and Major Projects at the Queensland Department of Trade, Employment and Training (DTET), Dou brings a wealth of experience in delivering public infrastructure projects that respond to and enhance the vocational education and training needs of students across Queensland. 

With over 20 years in urban design, planning, strategic policy development, communications and project management, Dou has worked in private, public, academia and in executive government as an advisor to the former Queensland Premier, Deputy Premier and Training Ministers. As a strong advocate for lifelong learning, Dou is known for his ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with diverse stakeholders in aligning TAFE infrastructure strategy and investment against the Queensland Government's workforce policy agenda.

Dou is passionate about continuous improvement and innovation in VET and education as a whole, with a focus on leveraging technology and data-driven insights to drive investment. As a son of a university professor, having completed two Masters and currently undertaking a TAFE course, Dou believes in the power of education to transform lives and enable individuals to reach their goals. 

At EDUtech 2025, Dou will share his insights on DTET is supporting and enabling TAFE Queensland in the innovative delivery of vocational education and training, ensuring that further and higher education remains accessible to as many people as possible. Technology can harness the power of connectivity, which in turn drives the outcomes we want for students especially in regional and rural communities. Attendees can expect to gain valuable insights in how the Queensland Government is working with TAFE Queensland to deliver new ways of delivering education and training in the digital age.
