A seasoned and versatile educator, Asstariny Harumningtyas Hartono (Asstried) brings a modern and responsible approach to education, striving to make learning meaningful for her students.
Her intrinsic motivation stems from the joy of collaborative work and community development. She further enriched her foundational knowledge of human behavior with overseas experiences, studying Psychology at North Carolina State University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro before completing her bachelor’s degree back home in Jakarta at the University of Indonesia. This diverse educational background provides a global perspective and prepares her for various dynamic educational contexts.
As an avid project-based learning educator, Asstried's teaching approach integrates Design Thinking principles, creating engaging lessons that make learning meaningful. She adeptly designs these lessons to cater to diverse learning styles and promote essential critical thinking skills among her students. Her versatility is also evident in her capacity as a relief teacher, adapting seamlessly to various classroom and subject needs.
Beyond the classroom, she shares her expertise by giving workshops and mentoring to university students on Design Thinking as part of her community development work. These varied roles and contributions collectively underscore her commitment to fostering a supportive and interactive learning environment for all.
Currently, Asstried teaches Middle Year Program Humanities and Global Perspectives at Beacon Academy, building on over a decade of experience in international schools across various subjects since 2008. From 2008 to 2020, she taught subjects like Global Perspectives, Social Studies, and English, and also contributed to school life through internal committees. Her educational journey began even before that, with valuable experience as a Camp Counselor and Activity Leader at a training center from 2006 to 2008, all of which have honed her leadership, organizational skills, and dedication to student development across various educational settings.
Beyond her professional path, Asstried’s passion for movies deepens her appreciation for diverse narratives, while her interest in crystal healing subtly influences her approach to fostering calm and positive learning environments.
