Mr. Allan Wong is Director of Information Technology responsible to drive digital transformation of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), enabling its vision to be a leading liberal arts University in Asia, and sustaining the University to be future-ready for the workplace and country by providing the best student experience and research excellence. Prior to joining HKBU, Mr. Wong was Deputy Chief Information Officer of Airport Authority Hong Kong responsible for all the information technology applications, infrastructure and operations services, as well as to drive and execute smart airport vision and focus on innovation to bring the business benefits of better passenger experience and improved operational efficiencies in areas of advanced biometrics, mobile technology, robotics, blockchain, 5G, digital twins, and big data intelligence. Mr. Wong has 30 years of solid experience in Information Technology with extensive services, consulting business, and management experience across Asia Pacific and Greater China region. He has held various senior regional management positions in different multi-national corporations including NTT/Dimension Data, Oracle Systems, Avaya, and Cisco Systems. Allan has received several prestigious IT awards including the global IDG CSO50 award, World CIO200 award, ASEAN CIO100 award and CSO30 award, and IDC Digital Transformation award. Mr. Wong holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering with First Class Honours, a Master of Corporate Finance from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Master of Business Administration from Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is a Fellow, Chartered Engineer of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers and Deputy Chairman in Electronics Discipline Advisory panel.
