ELLDI Company is an education technology company committed to transforming early childhood literacy through evidence-based assessment and intervention.

ELLDI (Early Language and Literacy Development Index) is a world-first literacy assessment that provides a comprehensive view of a child’s learning journey across all key subdomains of literacy for children aged 2½ to 8 years. Unlike traditional assessments that narrowly target the year before school or focus on a single skill, ELLDI equips educators, practitioners, and parents with a holistic understanding of children’s progress throughout the critical early years. In addition to detailed reporting, ELLDI offers immediate, practical, and easy-to-implement guidance for targeted literacy intervention.

Developed in collaboration with the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER), ELLDI is rigorously validated and the result of a five-year independent study. In 2023, it received the World Summit Award for Learning and Education in recognition of its global innovation and impact.

Founded as a social enterprise within the Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation (ALNF), ELLDI Company has grown from supporting community-based literacy initiatives to partnering with schools, organisations, and regional experts across Australia.

As we expand globally, we remain committed to delivering the highest-quality literacy assessment that is accessible, inclusive, and impactful.
