Sagitta Biotech (Belgium) is a preclinical-stage biotech developing programmable viral vectors — a flexible, targeted delivery platform that uses engineered viruses to recognize specific cell-surface markers and deliver a multi-gene self-amplifying RNA to reprogram cellular behavior.
The technology addresses key limitations in the $60B cell & gene therapy market by providing high cell specificity, a larger payload (up to 6 genes) and sustained expression for 1–2 weeks via self-amplifying RNA (without genome integration).
The very low immunogenicity of our vectors allows re-dosing (several injections of the same vector) without compromising safety or efficacy.
Moreover, we are using a fast, low-cost manufacturing with a patented process that can move from design to GMP-ready production in weeks using lab-scale equipment. Making it very fast and cost-effective to develop follow-on indications.
Those are major competitive advantages from all other vectors used in Cell&Gene therapies (AAV, Adeno, Lenti, LNPs, etc).
We are convinced our technology is a gamechanger in the field, with a very wide range of applications.
Sagitta is advancing multiple indications (glioblastoma, various solid tumors, lymphomas, Treg reprogramming for autoimmune diseases, and fibrosis).
We have also reached preclinical validation in infectious diseases (Pandemic Flu vaccine) but our vaccine portfolio is only moving forward using non-dilutive funding.
