Umberto Perron, PhD, is a Senior Computational Biologist with 10 years of research experience in academia and the techbio industry. He has a background in molecular biology and bioinformatics with a MSc in Molecular Biotechnology (2016) and a BSc in Biotechnology (2014), both from the Università degli Studi di Torino, IT. He earned his PhD in Bioinformatics from EMBL International PhD Programme / University of Cambridge, UK (2020), whith a thesis on mathematical modelling of protein sequence and structure evolution. Umberto’s postoctoral research has focused on developing and applying statistical and machine learning models to analyze and interpret large-scale multi-omics datasets in the fields of oncology and immunology. At Omniscope, he leads the development of ML and statistical frameworks for therapeutic and diagnostic applications in molecular immunology.
