Health Awareness - News, information and personal stories
The AMR campaign:
With the conclusion of the second High-Level Meeting on AMR in September it is crucial, now more than ever, that AMR remains high on the global health priority list. The campaign will promote the importance of education on both a patient and industry level, public health and the prevention and eventual eradication of AMR. Running in support of World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week, it will promote the message of ‘Educate. Advocate. Act Now’! It will highlight the need for continued cross-sector collaboration and investment on a global scale. The campaign will also act as a call for action from the general public, healthcare professionals, industry, government and NGOs to help slow the acceleration of AMR and ensure the conversation on AMR is continued and practised. To ensure global awareness, action and collaboration, the Infectious Diseases campaign will explore the emerging challenges facing the infectious diseases landscape. The campaign will seek to illuminate the prominence of the Big Three Infectious Diseases (BTIDs), promote cross-sector collaboration, advocate for enhanced pandemic preparedness, raise awareness of early symptom recognition and urge increased funding for infectious disease research.
The ID and Vaccines Campaign:
A global campaign on infectious diseases is vital because these threats ignore borders, demanding international collaboration to prevent pandemics and strengthen global health security through surveillance and rapid response. Such campaigns address health inequities by ensuring vulnerable populations have access to care, driving progress towards universal health coverage. They improve public health by aiming for disease eradication, increasing awareness, accelerating research, and combating antimicrobial resistance. Ultimately, a unified global effort fosters shared responsibility, mobilizes resources, and facilitates knowledge sharing for a healthier and more secure world.
