Litsa Kapsalis, PhD student, Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Litsa Kapsalis a PhD student in Biological Engineering at MIT, where she develops novel drug delivery systems and formulations, advised by Prof. Bob Langer and Dr. Ana Jaklenec. She is also a Venture Capital Fellow with Portal Innovations, a life science venture investing, creation and development firm, as well as an associate in the MIT Biotech Group. Previously, Litsa was a VC fellow with Northpond Ventures and Necessary Ventures, as well as a consulting Summer Analyst at ClearView Healthcare Partners. She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in bioengineering from Harvard, researching whole tumor cell vaccines in Prof. Samir Mitragotri’s lab. During her time at Harvard, she co-founded the Harvard Undergraduate Biotechnology Club and served as the group's Managing Director of External Engagement. She also was an Undergraduate Technology Innovation Fellow through Harvard Business School and the School of Engineering.
