Glenna Crooks, PhD, Founder and CEO, Strategic Health Policy International, Inc

Dr. Glenna Crooks is a highly respected leader in the field of healthcare policy and rare diseases. She is the Founder and CEO of Strategic Health Policy International, Inc., a  consulting firm specializing in problem solving, strategy and policy development for government and healthcare clients globally.  

With over 20 years of experience in healthcare, Dr. Crooks has worked with a wide range of stakeholders including biopharmaceutical companies, patient advocacy groups, clinicians, and governments to drive positive change. She is known for her expertise in navigating complex healthcare systems and her ability to develop high-leverage strategies that meet the needs of diverse populations.Her recent work incudes proposing an Oath for GenAI in Healthcare, and a new approach for understanding patient and caregiver journeys through the lens of the network ecosystem, as described in her latest book, The NetworkSage: Realize Your Network Superpower.  As a Reagan appointee, she led government initiatives on rare diseases, serving as the chair of a government-wide Orphan Products Board. Following government service, she was appointed to the National Commission on Orphan Diseases, and elected Chair by the Commissioners. She chaired a series of hearings across the country to allow patients, caregivers and clinicians to provide input into the Commission's report. She served on the Commission on Drugs for Rare Diseases of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (now PhRMA), and received the Congressional Exemplary Service Award for Orphan Products Development.

Dr. Crooks a thought leader, and sought-after speaker, regularly presenting at conferences and events to share her insights. She is a Fellow of he University of Pennsylvania Center for Neuroscience and Society and the Drexel University Center for Population Health. Her passion for making a difference in the lives of others is evident in all aspects of her work. It is also evident in her community, where is she is known as the "Soup Angel" for the support she provided as neighbors recovered from a devastating tornado and in the donation of her mu shin Zen art for projects that help children with special needs.
