With a spark for storytelling and a passion for people, Laura Liz Calo Woolcott has spent the past 6.5 years helping local government staff grow their digital confidence. In her role as an IT Learning Development Officer at Ballina Shire Council, she invites curiosity into the learning process—designing playful, practical experiences that make tech less intimidating and more human. A former university lecturer, communications director, and innovation consultant, develops creative digital literacy workshops and elearning courses. She also speaks on international stages to inspire confidence and connection in a fast-changing world. Beyond the office, she serves her community as a Rotarian and volunteer firefighter. She is an emerging author, an amateur comedian, and a proud Puerto Rican who grew up in the great state of Texas, and now calls Ballina, NSW home. On the Tech in Gov 2025 panel, Laura will share fresh insights and practical tips for upskilling the public sector through creative, inclusive, and courageous strategies.
