Assoc. Prof. Nguyễn Thanh Phương, PhD., is Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), with over 25 years of academic and research experience at the institution.

A dedicated academic and researcher, he has made significant contributions to electrical engineering education and scientific research in Vietnam. He has held key roles including Head of the Doctoral Program in Electrical Engineering, leader of a key research group at the Institute of Engineering, and long-standing member of the university’s Professorial Council.

Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in advancing research, developing academic talent, and strengthening university–industry collaboration to better connect education with real-world applications. His work has been recognized with multiple awards and commendations from the Prime Minister, ministries, and academic institutions.

Beyond his academic achievements, he is committed to mentoring and developing future generations of engineers and researchers, contributing to the growth of a dynamic and innovation-driven academic environment at HUTECH.
