Mr. Giandomenico Zappia is a cross-border energy and sustainable finance leader working at the intersection of capital, technology, and policy across Southeast Asia. He currently chairs the Sustainable Finance Sector Committee (SFSC) of EuroCham Vietnam, where he actively contributes to shaping dialogue on green finance, climate investment frameworks, and market-based decarbonization mechanisms in Vietnam.
He is also Co-Founder and President of AQUILA.is, an IoT-powered sustainable finance platform focused on real-time ESG data verification and monitoring — helping reduce the cost and risk of KPI validation for financial institutions and climate projects.
Previously, Mr. Zappia was part of the early Asia-Pacific business development team at Enel Green Power, leading market entry and project pipeline development across India, Indonesia, Australia, South Korea, and Vietnam. His experience spans project origination and permitting, deal structuring, institutional engagement, investor relations, and joint-venture management across wind, hydro, geothermal, solar, minigrids, and advanced metering infrastructure.
He has also co-founded ventures in clean mobility and market expansion advisory, with a strong focus on hard-to-abate sectors, green banking, and scalable climate technology solutions.
Mr. Zappia holds a combined Bachelor and Master of Science in Law from Università Bocconi and completed an exchange program in Energy and Natural Resources Law at The University of Texas at Austin. He speaks Italian, English, Bahasa Indonesia, and French.
