Robert Gardener is a former Civil Servant in the Cabinet Office, Director in the Government of Abu Dhabi, and senior adviser to global corporations, governments and not-for-profit organisations.  Robert works alongside lawyers throughout the firm to ensure our legal advice is strongly infused with a public policy perspective, to help provide clarity to clients on regulatory environments, and to inform clients' current and perspective business decisions on which government policy may have an impact. That is why we are the only firm top-ranked by Chambers UK, for both Administrative and Public Law and Public Affairs, and by Legal 500 for Administrative and Public Law. Robert is also Chair of the firm's UK2030 programme, which brings together specialism and experience from across Hogan Lovells to understand, engage and act on the principal risks and opportunities for businesses in the current decade, and a member of the Global Regulatory & IPMT Leadership. He is a member of a number of Government expert advisery panels, including Global Travel and National Security and Investment, and regularly advises Central Government on the business and regulatory implications of policy considerations.
