Jörg Reinhold, CEO, IDloop

Jörg Reinhold is the co-founder and CEO of IDloop, a Jena-based deep-tech company developing contactless finger image capture through optical full-3D imaging technology. A physicist by training, Jörg studied at Friedrich Schiller University Jena (2002–2008) before joining the Institute of Applied Physics as a researcher in photonics and light–matter interaction. He then moved into the biometrics industry, where he was part of the team that invented the first optical TFT sensor technology for contact-based fingerprint capture — work that made him a named inventor on more than 40 international patent applications. From 2018 to 2021 he led research and development at biometrics company Jenetric GmbH. In April 2021, Jörg founded IDloop together with former colleagues to pioneer a new generation of contactless 3D fingerprint technology.
