Simon Board is an educational specialist in the area of Personal Development, Health and Physical Education. Over 25 years, he has led, developed and grown future-focused and collaborative PDHPE departments at St Aloysius College, Barker College, Loreto Kirribilli, Northern Beaches Christian School, International Grammar School and is currently employed as Head of PDHPE at Kambala. He is also currently a Sessional Lecturer at Charles Sturt University instructing units on Master in Mentoring, Educational Leadership and PDHPE and Outdoor Education. Simon’s leadership experiences are reinforced by the completion of a Master of Leadership and Management in Education from Newcastle University. He has taught in the UK and the USA, exploring innovative teaching practices both internationally and throughout Australia. He most recently published a paper in Journal of Physical Education, Recreation and Dance titled "Exploring the value of student autonomy in physical education: two case studies in the UK and Australia". His passion for curriculum and innovation has led to his selection as the author of the Sun and UV at School resources written for NSW Schools in collaboration with the Cancer Institute. This culminated in the design of the Sun Safety and Skin Care Workshops in Schools in collaboration with Dr Philip Tong and his company Dermscreen, resulting in Workshops at Kambala and Inner Sydney High and the development of an online platform in 2025. The Skin Care and Sun Safety workshop is also part of a research study conducted by Charles Sturt University due to be released in 2025 asking "‘Can dedicated workshops and associated syllabus implementation be used to improve high school students' knowledge and understanding of skin care and protection?’
