Dr Jane Jarvis, Research Director - Effective Practice in Education, Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER)

Dr Jane Jarvis is the Research Director of the Effective Practice in Education program at the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) and an Adjunct Associate Professor in Education at Flinders University. She holds a PhD from the University of Virginia, and has worked as a teacher, school counsellor, behaviour support practitioner, administrator, researcher, and consultant, in both disability and education settings. Before joining ACER, Jane’s university work included helping to establish initial teacher education programs in inclusive and specialised education, developing undergraduate and postgraduate coursework in differentiated instruction, inclusive education, and gifted education, and co-directing the Research in Inclusive and Specialised Education (RISE) Initiative. She has worked with many schools throughout Australia and internationally to build their capacity for inclusive practice. Jane is passionate about collaborating with educators at all levels and leading research to support teachers' capacity to design differentiated learning experiences so that diverse young people can thrive.
