Brett Duncan is an experienced educator and esports advocate committed to building a culture of excellence and community within scholastic esports. As a Teacher and Esports Program Manager at Yarra Valley Grammar, he has designed a program that mirrors traditional sports, ensuring students experience structured competition, shared success, and the values of teamwork and resilience. With 15 years in education across both the Public and Private school spheres, he has developed esports initiatives that go beyond participation, fostering student wellbeing and leadership while integrating gaming into the broader school culture. His programs emphasise discipline, camaraderie, and high performance, providing students with the same opportunities for growth, achievement, and school pride found in conventional sports. As a speaker at EDUtech 2025, Brett will share insights into how structured esports programs can elevate student success, build strong school communities, and redefine competitive gaming in education. He strives to set new standards for integrating esports into schools, ensuring it becomes a recognised and valued part of the scholastic experience.
