Alfina Jackson, Digital Innovator, St Joseph's Primary School Laurieton

Alfina Jackson is primary teacher with almost 20 years of experience in classroom, leadership and support roles in primary schools and tertiary education. She is a Google Certified Innovator, 2025 micro:bit Champion and was the recipient of the Information Communication Technologies Educators of NSW (ICTENSW) 2023 Educator of the Year. Alfina was recognised by the Flipped Learning Initiative as one of the Top 50 Flipped Learning Administrators and Coaches Worldwide in 2018. She is passionate about meaningful technology integration in primary classrooms, especially in the early years, and promotes digital literacy as an important skill alongside literacy and numeracy. As a person with lived experience as a learner and as a parent, Alfina is an advocate for supporting additional needs, especially for neurodivergent and deaf/hard of hearing students, with an interest in digital accessiblity in mainstream classrooms. She volunteers as a director of ICTENSW and works as a Digital Innovator and STEM specialist in regional NSW.
