Since August 2018, Sean Lynch has been Head of School at Chinese International School (CIS), a leading bilingual Chinese-English international school located in Hong Kong, with a year-long residential program for Year 10 students in Hangzhou. Before joining CIS, he served for seven years as Head of the Lycée Français de New York, a prominent bilingual French-English independent school in New York City, prior to which he worked for 15 years as an educational leader in Paris, again in the field of bilingual education.
Holding French, American and Irish nationalities, educated in Austria, England, France and the United States, and speaking several languages, Sean received his undergraduate degree from Yale University. A lifelong learner, he has also earned advanced degrees from Sciences Po Paris, as well as an executive certification from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, the Stanford Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program, and INSEAD. In addition to speaking at conferences and publishing articles on a wide range of topics related to 21st-century education, he has been a Klingenstein Fellow at Columbia University Teacher's College, and is the recipient of the Palmes Académiques from the French government for contributions to the advancement of French culture around the world.
