Mervyn Asher John, Lecturer, Institute of Technical Education

Mervyn Asher is a Lecturer at ITE College Central, Singapore, where he teaches Security Operations and develops applied learning experiences for adult learners and work-study diploma trainees. His multidisciplinary career spans 16 years in the Singapore Police Force, leadership in the advertising and creative industry, and experience as a technology integrator. Holding a Master’s degree in Strategic Studies and a degree in Communications, Mervyn is particularly interested in how artificial intelligence, music and behavioural science can be applied meaningfully in education. A lifelong musician and drummer, he brings both an educator’s perspective and a practitioner’s understanding of music into his exploration of educator well-being.
