Dr. Jeyaletchumi Muthiah is a Mathematics Education Specialist at SEAMEO RECSAM with over 30 years of experience in mathematics education. She holds a PhD in Mathematics education from the University of Science Malaysia. Previously she served as the Head of the Science and Mathematics Department in a high school in Penang under the Malaysian Ministry of Education starting from 2009. She was also awarded the Excellent Teacher of Mathematics title by the Ministry of Education Malaysia in the year 2011. In 2023, she was appointed as the Acting Deputy Director of the Training and Research Division at SEAMEO RECSAM, where she oversaw profesional development programmes for educators and students from SEAMEO member countries. Dr Jeyaletchumi has served as a judge for various national and international innovation competitions, including the main organiser of the 13th Regional Congress Search for SEAMEO Young Scientist (13th SSYS). It featured participation from 100 teams across ASEAN countries. She also contributes to STEAM related projects and the Southeast ASEAN Teachers Education Programme (SEA-TEP), with research interests centred on the integration of graphing technology and dynamic mathematical softwaqre in mathematics education.
