Imagine a place where student ideas spring to life, where their solutions tackle the planet’s most pressing issues – that place is none other than the EDUtech Planet Protectors arena! More than a competition, it’s a call to action for young minds eager to make a real difference in the world.
In the face of escalating environmental challenges, the need for sustainable solutions has never been more urgent. Yet, there exists a significant gap between awareness and action. The EDUtech Planet Protectors initiative seeks to bridge this divide, spotlighting the crucial role of student-led innovation in driving real-world environmental change.
(Available in TWO leagues: K-12 League & HE League)
In today's world, the culture of overconsumption is placing immense pressure on the environment, natural resources and society at large. People are purchasing and using products at an unprecedented rate, often driven by social, economic and media influences rather than actual need. This behaviour results in excessive waste, the depletion of finite resources and increased greenhouse gas emissions – all contributing to climate change, environmental degradation and even the perpetuation of social inequalities.
To address these challenges, there is a pressing need to shift both individual behaviours and societal norms toward more sustainable consumption patterns. By rethinking our approach to consumption, we can work towards a more equitable, resource-efficient and environmentally friendly future.
Powered by Google tools, teams need develop an initiative to tackle overconsumption and show us your prototype.
K-12 League
Suitable for ages: 10 to 17 (Upper Primary/4th Grade to Junior College / High School / Grade 12)
HE League
Suitable for ages: 17 and above (ITEs / TVETs / Polytechnics / HEIs)
