Minmin Yen, CEO & Co-Founder, PhagePro, P.B.C.

Dr. Minmin (Mimi) Yen (she/her) is CEO and Co-Founder of PhagePro, P.B.C., a biotechnology company reimagining bacterial disease prevention worldwide. PhagePro develops precision bacteriophage prophylactics designed to prevent infection before it starts. Its lead program, Prophylytic-Vc (PVC), is an orally administered, cold-chain–independent phage cocktail aimed at preventing cholera infection and interrupting transmission, particularly in outbreak and resource-limited settings. By leveraging naturally occurring bacteriophages to selectively target pathogenic bacteria in the gut, PhagePro seeks to complement vaccines and antibiotics with a rapid, scalable, non-antibiotic prevention strategy aligned with global access pathways. Dr. Yen founded PhagePro to address persistent inequities in antimicrobial innovation and outbreak response. She leads the company’s overall strategy and partnerships as PVC advances toward first-in-human studies, with a focus on scalable development and equitable deployment. Her leadership has been recognized by MIT Technology Review’s 35 Innovators Under 35, Boston Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business, the Atlantic Council Millennium Leadership Fellowship, and the Henri Termeer Legacy Fellowship Program. She also serves as a REVIVE Antimicrobial Resistance Expert for GARDP. Dr. Yen earned her B.S. in Biological Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, her Ph.D. in Molecular Microbiology from Tufts University, and her M.P.H. in Program Management and Global Health from Boston University.
