He has won an NIH New Innovator Award (in 2022), a Biohub investigatorship (in 2022), and three NIH R01 grants as Principal Investigator (in 2023 and 2024). In 2026, he was named one of the 100 most influential people in health and medicine globally by TIME Magazine (The TIME100 Health list) for his work on the link between shingles vaccination and dementia. He is currently trying to raise funds from philanthropy for a large-scale clinical trial of shingles vaccination for dementia prevention.
