Veronica Lopez Gousset, MPH has more than 8 years of experience ensuring patients’ voices are represented in healthcare decision-making. Her work includes developing and delivering capability building courses to patient communities on topics such as their role in medicine development and access, how to engage with decision makers, and the importance of international collaborations. She serves as an external advisor to patient organizations in the rare disease space including Colombian Rare Disease Federation (FECOER), the Alpha-1 Europe Alliance, and Rare Diseases International. She is a Steering Committee member of the Health Technology Assessment International (HTAi) Rare Disease Interest Group, and she has presented, trained, and published on how to evaluate the impact of patient involvement in health technology assessments (HTA). Veronica is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Public Health (DrPH) from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She has a Master's degree in Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in health policy from the Columbia Mailman School of Public Health.
