Md. Shamiun Hossain is Integrated Network Lead Engineer within the Network Strategy and Performance team at Banglalink, where he leads the design and execution of network strategy, radio access network (RAN) planning, and technology transformation initiatives. His responsibilities include network architecture, vendor management, automation, business continuity planning, and the deployment of next-generation network solutions to enhance performance and operational efficiency.
He has over 15 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, specialising in network strategy, RAN planning and optimisation, capacity management, OSS automation, network performance, and technology transformation. His expertise spans 2G, 3G, 4G, AI-driven network optimisation, xRAN, and large-scale infrastructure programmes.
Since joining Banglalink in 2014, Shamiun has progressed through a series of increasingly senior engineering roles, including Capacity and Frequency Planning Associate Engineer, Capacity and Frequency Planning Engineer, Planning Specialist Engineer, and Network Planning Lead Engineer. Throughout his tenure, he has led nationwide network planning projects, vendor evaluations, technology trials, automation initiatives, and strategic programmes aimed at improving network resilience, customer experience, and cost efficiency.
Earlier in his career, he worked with Metro Global Telecom Services, contributing to major network modernisation projects for Grameenphone, Robi, and Teletalk, including large-scale 2G network swaps and the rollout of Bangladesh's early 3G infrastructure.
Shamiun holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from East West University and a Master's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from United International University. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®), Disciplined Agile Senior Scrum Master (DASSM®), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM®), and Certified in Cybersecurity (CC). His experience combines technical leadership, strategic planning, and programme delivery to support the evolution of modern telecommunications networks.
