Hin Chan is an experienced cybersecurity professional with a proven track record in protecting critical government infrastructure from cyber threats. Hin is the Manager of the Australian Information Security Evaluation Program (AISEP) within the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) and leads a team of experts who is responsible for the evaluation and certification of ICT security products under the internationally recognised Common Criteria (CC) framework, supporting Australian organisations in making informed security assurance decisions. The program also contributes to the development of standards and initiatives aimed at improving the security of ICT products. In this role, Hin serves as the Australian Government's principal adviser on matters relating to product assurance, security evaluations, and the strategic direction of Australia's participation in the international Common Criteria Recognition Arrangement (CCRA). He represents Australia on various international committees including in the ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 27 working groups through Standards Australia, and is a member of the Accreditation Advisory Committee (AAC) of the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA), Australia's national accreditation body for testing and calibration laboratories. Hin holds qualifications in Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, and Computer Systems Engineering and has more than 25 years of experience in information technology and cybersecurity. His extensive expertise spans both the technical and strategic dimensions of cybersecurity, with a particular focus on security evaluation, product assurance, standards development, and international collaboration. Hin brings a unique blend of technical expertise and strategic vision to his role. Hin is a sought-after speaker and thought leader in the cybersecurity community, regularly sharing his insights at conferences and events such as the International Common Criteria Conference.
