Daniel Roelink, Director, Office for AI, NSW Department of Customer Service

Dan is the Head of the NSW Office for AI within Digital NSW, Department of Customer Service. He leads the development of whole-of-government AI policy, frameworks, and guidance, and provides practical advice to support the safe and effective adoption of artificial intelligence across NSW Government. Working with government, industry, and academia, Dan contributes to shaping an AI-ready public sector by modernising policy, assurance, and operating models to better support emerging technologies. His team has delivered NSW AI policy and guidance (including Agentic AI guidance), systems to automate AI risk assessments, commenced consultation on a new NSW AI Strategic Plan and NSW AI Operational Policy, and is developing systems to identify AI use cases, assess benefits, and support cross-agency sharing.
