Seamus Connor is a technical leader at Everpure within the Hyperscale Line of Business, helping drive strategy and execution for hyperscale storage platforms. With more than 19 years of experience in systems and infrastructure engineering, he works across hardware and software boundaries to align product direction, engineering priorities, and customer needs. His current focus is building scalable, resilient infrastructure and guiding teams to deliver complex systems for hyperscale environments.
At scale, component failures are inevitable - outages are not. This talk focuses on architectural approaches that reduce operational disruption when drive failures occur, particularly in hyperscale environments supporting mission-critical workloads. We will discuss techniques for fault isolation, background rebuilds, and intelligent data management that allow systems to recover from device or component failures without service interruption or excessive traffic across the network.
