Dr. Sawako Nakamae (CEA-Fellow) is an experimental physicist and the head of SPHYNX (Out of Equilibrium Physics, Complexity and Energy) group within the Condensed Matter Physics department of IRAMIS/DRF/CEA. Her personal research activities focus on thermoelectric energy conversion in nanofluids and complex fluids for low-grade waste and ambient heat recovery. In parallel, she is currently serving as the coordinator of the joint programme “Advanced Materials and Processes for Energy Applications (AMPEA)” of European Energy Research Alliance.and the Action Chair of the COST-Action “European Materials Acceleration Center for Energy (EU-MACE)” both of which promote networking of materials scientists for accelerating the development and integration of advanced materials into renewable energy technologies.
This session explores how to build an ecosystem around autonomous Materials Acceleration Platforms (MAP) for advanced functional materials in sustainable energy technologies. Three speakers will provide insights: one on the COST-Action EU-MACE, an ongoing European project establishing such an ecosystem; another will showcase a specific example on connecting traditional (legacy) laboratories to a MAP in practice; and the third will highlight the critical role of communication in bridging diverse stakeholders to foster collaboration and accelerated innovation.
