VENUE SELECTION
Future Labs Live 2025 will be held at the Congress Center Basel, which is committed to sustainability and has integrated various eco-friendly practices to minimize its environmental impact. They focus on energy efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainable mobility. The center uses energy-efficient technologies in lighting, heating, and cooling systems to reduce its overall energy consumption. They are also working toward using renewable energy sources in addition to having a comprehensive waste separation and recycling program to ensure that as much waste as possible is diverted from landfills.

ACCESSIBILITY
The Messe and Congress Center Basel are fully accessible. They have recorded the accessibility of all our rooms and access routes with OK:GO. OK:GO supports Switzerland’s tourism industry in addressing the travel requirements of people with disabilities, senior citizens and families with small children in an appropriate and targeted manner. TRAVEL OPTIONS

To reach the Messe Congress Center Basel sustainably, there are several eco-friendly travel options available. Basel boasts an efficient public transport system, with trams (lines 1, 2, 6, 14, and 21) and buses that stop directly at the venue, providing a convenient and green way to get there. If you're coming from outside Basel, the Basel SBB or Badischer Bahnhof train stations offer easy access via tram, making trains an ideal low-carbon option. For those who prefer cycling, Basel is a bike-friendly city with dedicated cycling paths, and the Congress Center offers bike racks for visitors. Walking is another great option, especially if you're staying nearby, as it’s the most sustainable and emission-free choice. If driving is necessary, consider carpooling or using an electric vehicle, as Basel has electric car charging stations and carpooling helps reduce the number of vehicles on the road.

PAPERLESS INITIATIVE
Future Labs Live has adopted a fully paperless approach, significantly reducing paper waste, energy consumption, and transportation emissions while exploring innovative communication methods. All event information including the conference program can be found on the event app. 

CARBON EMISSIONS TRACKING

Future Labs Live is tracking carbon emissions from attendee travel, waste, and energy use, working toward reducing the event’s carbon footprint and keeping stakeholders informed of progress.
