Vinny Antonucci, Allotrope Foundation Vinny joined Merck in 1993 after earning a B.S. from Stevens Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from Duke University.  He has held various positions of increasing responsibility over the past three decades at Merck as a senior scientist and manager in R&D, a regulatory CMC lead authoring new market applications, and currently leads a digital technology product organization that enables R&D.  Vinny has played an active role in multiple consortia in the sciences and data standardization for over a decade, with the goal of encouraging innovative industry approaches on a range of topics to better enable science.  In addition to responsibilities at Merck, Vinny currently is the co-chair of Allotrope Foundation, a not-for-profit consortium in the life sciences with the goal of making laboratory data FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable).  To achieve this goal, Allotrope Foundation has created and maintains a publically-available data standard and accompanying software tools to ensure consistent implementation.  Allotrope Foundation has quarterly releases of new ontologies & data models that apply this data standard, which in turn are being used in software solutions in life sciences to remove the friction experienced in capturing, sharing, and analyzing laboratory data
