Nicholas Fagan is a Research Lab Specialist at the Resuscitation Science Center (RSC) at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Within the RSC, the Kilbaugh Lab large animal team provides expertise in swine models of traumatic brain injury, cardiac arrest, novel drug therapies, as well as biomedical device development, neuromonitoring techniques, and surgical procedure advancement. With a strong background in animal sciences and a passion for advancing biomedical research through high-fidelity experiments, Nick plays a crucial role in maintaining day-to-day operations in the large animal team. With over fifteen years of experience in veterinary medicine, federal wildlife management, organizational logistic support, field ecology research, and data analysis, Nick brings a wealth of diverse knowledge and expertise to his work. His attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and collaborative approach make him an invaluable member of the research team at CHOP. In his current role, he provides logistical support to daily operations for the large animal team, supporting animal technicians, pediatric clinicians, and an interdisciplinary team of researchers at CHOP and University of Pennsylvania. This includes capital equipment and supply purchases, budget forecasting, coordinating with a multitude of stakeholders on campus, and providing hands-on approach to ensure everyone gets what they need, when they need it.
