Michelle MacRae is Co-Founder and CEO of Bower, an augmented research platform bringing AI into the physical workflow of science. She has previously held product and technology roles at Google, Microsoft and Dovetail. At Bower, Michelle is focused on how AI, computer vision and wearable technology can help scientists capture work as it happens, transfer expertise between people and sites, and access guidance at the point of execution.
Most AI tools for science still live behind a screen, while much of the work they are designed to support happens physically at the bench. This session explores what changes when AI can see, hear and understand scientific work as it happens. Michelle will discuss how smart glasses, computer vision and ambient AI can capture experimental context, preserve tacit knowledge, support technology transfer and provide guidance during execution, creating a new interface between scientists, their instruments and AI.
