People, Skills & Recruitment: DWP ZONE

Connecting Talent, Skills and Opportunity

Connected Britain Logo | Department for Work and Pensions Logo

The DWP Zone within the People, Skills & Recruitment Zone at Connected Britain is designed to bring together employers, training providers, industry leaders, recruiters and future talent.

Developed in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), the Zone provides a practical environment where individuals can explore career opportunities, discover skills pathways and access expert advice. Visitors can also connect directly with organisations operating across some of the UK's fastest-growing sectors, including telecoms, digital infrastructure, clean energy, data centres and emerging technologies such as AI.

The Zone has been created to support people at every stage of their career journey, from students and apprentices through to career changers, returners to work and experienced professionals seeking their next opportunity.

Exhibitors, Partners and Industry Organisations

The Zone will host a dedicated Jobs Fair featuring employers, contractors, infrastructure providers, training organisations and apprenticeship programmes from across the digital infrastructure and clean energy sectors. Attendees can engage directly with organisations recruiting now, learn about future workforce opportunities and discover training routes into the industry.

Partners contributing to the Zone include DWP, Impact Match, BDI DataLynk and employers from the telecoms, infrastructure, clean energy and technology sectors. Previous and expected participation includes organisations such as National Grid, Cornerstone and a wide range of employers operating across broadband, wireless connectivity, data centre, digital infrastructure and energy projects.

What Support and Opportunities are Available?

Visitors to the Zone will have access to:

  • Employers with live vacancies and recruitment campaigns
  • Apprenticeship, graduate and early-career opportunities
  • Career change and reskilling pathways
  • Industry training and skills programmes
  • Employability workshops and career development sessions
