Dr Russell Harrison BVSc GradCertHSM GAICD
Russell Harrison is a purpose-driven leader with a comprehensive career encompassing animal health, human health, and disability support services. Russell is passionate about supporting career development, fostering innovation, and developing high-performing teams. As Chief Veterinary Officer at VetPartners, he leads the clinical excellence, clinical governance, and clinical education functions. Previously, Russell served as General Manager of Dog and Vision Services at Guide Dogs Victoria. His work included expanding their therapy dog program, establishing on-site veterinary services, creating the Dog Welfare and Ethics Committee, and launching employment and mental health support services to support individuals with low vision and blindness. Russell also served as Head of Hospital Services at Lort Smith Animal Hospital, where he implemented several new clinical initiatives, established their clinical ethics committee, and introduced low stress animal handling. In addition to his executive role, Russell is Deputy Chair of Seymour Health and of the Victorian Animal Welfare Advisory Committee
