Melissa Shoard | Founder of VCTA and ECC nurse
Veterinary Care Training Academy

Melissa is an ECC veterinary nurse based in Western Sydney with over a decade of experience. She holds multiple qualifications, including VTS (ECC), diplomas in ECC and GP nursing, and a Cert IV in training and assessing. A passionate educator, she’s published in AVNJ, lectured nationally, and volunteers with the VNCA. In 2024, she received the Louise O'Dwyer VTS Aspiration Award for her dedication to the profession. Melissa founded the Veterinary Care Training Academy to support industry growth and hosts VetCare Talk Time, a podcast diving into the highs, lows, and messy realities of veterinary life.
