Dr. Laura McGuffog is the lead Victorian veterinarian for Rest Your Paws - Australia’s leading in-home palliative care and euthanasia service for beloved pets. She graduated from the University of Sydney in 2019, after completing undergraduate studies at the Australian National University. Laura’s passion is education - she strives to empower veterinary teams to deliver compassionate, confident end-of-life care. Her focus is on improving communication, supporting grief, and helping teams build the emotional and practical skills needed to care sustainably - for both their patients and themselves. She believes this not only leads to better outcomes for families and pets, but also creates more rewarding, resilient careers for veterinary professionals. Laura is a Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Veterinarian (CHPV) through the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care (IAAHPC), and a Certified Peaceful Euthanasia Veterinarian (CPEV) through the Companion Animal Euthanasia Training Academy (CAETA). She also contributes to the development of educational tools and training programs aimed at building a more compassionate and capable veterinary profession.
