Kim Healy, RVN, AVN, FFCP(Veterinary), VTS(Nutrition), Greencross Vet Hospital at the University of Melbourne

Kim is a Certificate IV-qualified nurse and has been nursing for 8 years. She is both a registered and accredited vet nurse with VNCA. In 2021, Kim passed her Veterinary Technician Speciality examination and became the 2nd VTS in Nutrition in the Southern Hemisphere. She presented at the 2023 VNCA conference in two areas of veterinary nursing: the basics of small animal nutrition and how to perform veterinary nurse consultations. Kim operates a successful nutritional consulting service and receives regular referrals from a range of veterinary practices. Critical care, allergy and gastrointestinal nutrition are Kim's areas of special interest. Kim has experience in many areas of the veterinary world including emergency, reproduction, canine sports medicine, rehabilitation, dentistry and internal medicine. She is involved with teaching dentistry to 4th year veterinary students at Charles Sturt University, is Fear Free Certified, and regularly performs Feline Stress consultations with specific nutraceuticals and enrichment plans. Currently, Kim spends her time working between emergency and education. She is an emergency and critical care nurse at Greencross Hospital (Melbourne University), and a lecturer in the Bachelor of Veterinary Nursing course at Melbourne Polytechnic. Alongside working, Kim is also a 3rd year Bachelor of Veterinary Technology student and is currently working towards her 2nd Veterinary Technician Speciality in the area of Emergency & Critical Care.
